After successfully adding the stock algo indicators in TradingView, you can proceed to configure alerts. Please follow these steps to set up your alerts accordingly:
Choose any stock in TradingView and ensure that StockAlgo Alpha or another indicator is selected. For this tutorial, I will be using StockAlgo Alpha. Click on the "Alert" option, as highlighted.
Access the "Condition" dropdown, which will present a selection of alert options tailored to the indicators displayed on the chart. The alerts will automatically correspond to the current time frame in use. Should you wish to receive alerts based on an alternative time frame, be sure to modify the time frame settings accordingly.
Select the type of alert you wish to create. There are several options available, including Buy Alert, Sell Alert, and Buy or Sell Alert. While TradingView offers additional options, prioritize using the StockAlgo alerts that appear at the top of the list.
After selecting the condition, click "OK." To view your alerts, click the Alerts icon in the top right corner; this will show all alerts that are currently active.
If an alert is triggered it will show up in the Log tab next to Alerts where you can view when was the Alert Triggered and what is type of Alert.
When setting up alerts, various values can be modified to reflect personal preferences. The options highlighted below on the Alert screen are explained individually.
Trigger:
Only once — an alert is triggered only once. Alert conditions have to match the exact parameters that you set for it to be triggered.
Once per bar — the system checks every bar and triggers an alert whenever conditions are met (no more than once per bar).
Once per bar close — same as above, but the bar needs to close for an alert to be triggered.
Once per minute or every time — the system checks conditions every minute and triggers an alert whenever conditions are met.
Expiration:
This feature allows you to specify an expiration date for your alert, or you can choose to keep it open-ended.
Alert Name:
You can assign any custom name to the alert. This is particularly useful for distinguishing between different types of alerts when you have multiple alerts set for the same symbol.
Message:
Gives the ability to assign a custom message that will be displayed when the alert is triggered.
